Detroit Tigers vs. Minnesota Twins

Hi!

You are such a crazy German" geerntet habe :D

Jon's and Axl's car workshop

Hi Buddies,

I promised a bunch of guys that I'm going to write the next post in English because everybody was complaining that they're not able to understand a single word! I really hope u're ok with that!

Well I did a lot of work on my car the past weeks. I had problems to start the truck whenever it was high humidity outside! Kevin and me found that one of the ignition coils had a huge crack in it. So we changed the spark wires and both coils and now the S10 is running good again in every condition!

Since 3 weeks ago I had this weird rattling noice when I started driving on low speed! So I bought 2 new ball joints and headed over to Jon's place on Friday afternoon!

So we were trying to figure out what was wrong with Bob - yes I named my truck Bob :)

We basically started with unscrewing the two front wheel to check if the ball joints are really bad! Unfortunately the seemed to be good. So the research began :)

We were wondering if the wheel bearing is bad so we disassembled the rotor to check the shaft and the bearing itself. Everything looked preety good for a 12 year old car.

Bob was waiting for us to find the problem:

After we checked almost everything in the front end we just decided to change the upper ball joint.

While searching for the reason of the noice we found a worn out idler arm so we changed that. The other little thingy on the picture is the backup light switch. It has definetly nothing to do with the problem we were working on but nice to have :)

We put everything together and took Bob for a test ride. The sound was still there and we had no idea how to continue searching for a solution.

Jon had the great idea to look at the slip yoke between drive shaft and transmission. So we pulled out the drive shaft and checked all the u-joints and greased the spline of the slip yoke like hell!

We threw all back together and I left Jon's house after many hours of work. My ride home was basically the final test if we found the reason. It looks like we fixed it because I had no sound at all last night and today!

Regardless to the truck project everything is fine so far. The weather is getting better and better so I hope I can ride trials more regulary soon!

Alright - I hope everybody is satisfied :)
